The Little Mermaid

The Carlsberg Brewery donated funds to have this sculpture created, in tribute to a fairytale by Hans Christian Anderson (who is from Denmark). She is made of bronze and has been sitting here since 1913. She has been decapitated twice and has had her arms removed on several occasions. Fortunately, the city has the original casting to re-limb or re-head the sea beauty!
