Peter and Paul Fortress

This was taken during on river tour. Peter and Paul Fortress was built in 1703 and was originally built to protect the city from the Great Northern War against Sweden. Afterwards, it became the location for political prisoners. It houses the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul, the burial place of the Czars.
