Favorite wine and restaurant
Going on the third recommendation of our gracious hosts, Fred and Michele from Le Vallon, we drove to nearby Le Barroux, a tiny little hilltop village with amazing views and even more amazing food. The restaurant is Restaurant Gajulea (www.gajulea.fr) and it is soo worth a trip. Or two. Or three. We agreed, had this been the first place we dined, we'd not have needed to find an alternative. The food was amazing, had good prices and the wine cellar? Umm....let's just we've not seen anything like it anywhere and want one JUST like it. Oh...and lest we forget, the wine we chose that night. A Gigondas red from Pierre Amadieu that was so good, we visited the winery the next morn (prior to opening) and purchased 5 cases.
