MONTENEGRO
Montenegro is a small little southeastern European country that borders Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo and Albania. It is barely over 5,000 square miles and has a population of around 680,000 people. It declared independence in 2006 and is the newest "fully recognized sovereign state" in the world.
Personally, I envisioned Montenegro to be somewhat comparable to Monaco and the French Riviera. Not sure why, but I did. Well....it's not. As a matter of fact, it's nothing like it. Yes, its full of natural beauty - mountains all around, the clear waters of the Adriatic and the warm weather. Check. Friendly? Inviting? Clean? Mmmm...perhaps not.
