Having moved from the US to Europe in February 2005, we enjoyed nearly 5 years living and experiencing life in Germany.  In October 2009, our ventures (okay...job) moved us 11 hours south of our home in Germany to a wonderful location near Pordenone, Italy.  And so began a new chapter, a new venture.  After one year in Italy, our ex-pat assignment came to an all-to-soon end, leading us back to the USA...... South Carolina, to be exact.  After six years abroad, we now struggle with relearning the American way of life, where things are much more fast-paced and the days of 4 hour meals are LONG over (gotta turn those tables over). 

This website was initially created is to keep our family and friends abreast on what we are doing, where we are going, what life is like living abroad, blah blah blah.  We had a blast creating the site and an even better time experiencing the travels to post on the site. It has been our attempt to share a little of what we have learned about the places we visit: Some history, some sights, what/where to eat/sleep and our overall impressions of an area. We hope you enjoy our words, photos, ideas and travels. 

And so the website will continue with the travels. This time, closer to home. We've been allowed the gift of exploring so much of Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the various cultures and wonders of the world...now we will explore the beauty offered in our homeland.  So much to uncover and discover!   So while we are here, we will enjoy the history of what we have and continue to share our adventures.

On a sidenote, I am amazed that our little website has blossomed into something that is enjoyed around the world. People from just about every continent have found us, one way or another, and have sent kind emails or have left messages in our guestbook. It's amazing to me that the world is so large, but yet we can connect so easily.
