KRAKOW, POLAND
JUNE 2005
I wasn't sure what to expect with Poland, but one thing is for sure... I wasn't expecting to be so taken with it! Poland is absolutely beautiful. It is home to green rolling hills, great architecture and plenty to do and see. It feels like home....comfortable, despite the language differences. Pope John Paul II was born in a small town, Wadowice, just 20 minutes from Krakow. However, Krakow is where he schooled and resided until his election as Pope in 1978. You can see and feel the pride in the people of Krakow for their ties to this beloved Pope.
If you do visit Krakow, the Restaurant Szara, in the Main Square is delicious. The interior is ornate, has these great painted ceilings and the service is excellent! (www.szara.pl).
