GDANSK, POLAND
JUNE 2006
As I've mentioned, I have a passion for Poland. Christer and I have been fortunate enough to make a few trips into this beautiful country and having never visted Gdansk, I was anxious to see how this city compares to the rest of Poland that I so love. Well, it lived up to my expectations. Amazingly, the entire city was 90% destroyed during the bombings of WWII. The Poles of the area have worked hard to rebuild their city using original plans and what a job they have done! I've included photos of the some buildings that have remained untouched since the 40's bombings, just to serve as an example of the work and efforts put into rebuilding this beautiful city.
