LONDON, ENGLAND
JULY 2006
Christer and his father are B-I-G tennis fans, so when Wimbledon began this year, the two devised a plan to 'visit' London while the tennis matches took place. With some great connections, they were able to get two tickets for Saturdays events. While they hit the grass, so to speak, my step-sister, Erin and I, hit the streets for some shopping. Erin made out like a champ and I apparently was too overwhelmed to make any decisions and left with nothing. I am soooo out of shopping practice!
After taking advantage of tennis tournaments and shopping excursions, we made a jaunt to the countryside of London (about a 45 minute drive) to visit a lifelong friend of Christer's grandmother. This visit was the highlight of my trip. Jan Clutterbuck, the lifelong friend of Katherine Bradley, is just amazing. She is absolutely beautiful, has wonderful stories to which I hung on every word, and is a phenomenal artist who continues to teach painting classes. Her home is beautiful and between the beauty of the surroundings and the wonderful company being kept, I didn't want to leave. But time went too quickly and we were back on a plane before too long. Christer and I look forward to another trip to London....soon! There was so much to see and do and just not enough time!
