COLMAR, FRANCE
JULY 2006
Colmar is a small, quaint town about 1 hour south of Strasbourg and what it lacks in size, it makes up for in ambience and beauty. There was a noticable German influence within this French town (which happens to be pretty darned near the German border). During WWII, the American and British military were cautious to avoid bombing here, in order to preserve the charm that exists today. Colmar lies in the Alsace region, known for its half-timbered homes and wineries and with us being the wine enthusiasts that we are, we took full advantage of it's location....and wine tastings....and came home with a nice little collection that won't last long enough...
