MUNICH, GERMANY
APRIL 2007

Christer attended a tradeshow in Munich for two days, so I decided to tag along for the ride and hit the city solo.  The first day, I drove out to Nymphenburg Schloss (castle), which was a summer home to King Ludwig (owner of the well known Neuschwanstein Castle). The exterior was somewhat mundane but the interior was impressive.  On the grounds of Nymphenburg, housed a carriage museum which stored the carriages of the King and his court.  Wow!  This was a first for me to see an actual royal carriage (besides that at Disney...but that doesn't really count).  I spent the entire day walking through the castle, it's museums and it's bazillion acre gardens.  The next day, I walked into the city of Munich and checked out the common sights (Hofbrauhas, Ratskeller, Glockenspiel) and some of the not as common sights.  Due to my passion for churches and their interiors, I hit just about every church I could find.  I hit the famous Alois Dallmayr (http://www.dallmayr.de) store and picked up a mozzerella and mango sandwich (yum) and a water, headed to the tallest building in Munich, the Frauenkirche (http://www.aviewoncities.com/munich/frauenkirche.htm), and enjoyed my lunch outside of this lovely church.  Did some window shopping and then called it a day.
