After spending a few days in Munich, we made the short drive to Schwangau (bordering Austria) to visit the Neuschwanstein Castle.  I'd never been here before and figured, if Munich was that close to this famous castle, I'd best make the trip.  The weather was perfect, spring was in the air and tourism was at a low. Neuschwanstein was really cool to see and the surrounding area was spectacular.  The alps surround this area, along with rich forest and farmland.  There is just something wonderful about Bavaria....it feels homey, comfortable, country.  People are friendly, the air is so clean and the views leave you speechless. Honestly, if you ever visit one place in Germany...make it somewhere in Bavaria!
