While making the drive from Amsterdam to Paris, we juuuuust so happened to pass through Brussels.  Brussels is definitely THE place to get mussels and beer, so a quick stop was a must.  We ate lunch in the Grande Place (the big and famous square), walked through a little market, picked up some Belgian chocolates and hit the road.
