BERLIN, GERMANY
JULY 2007
We made a weekend trip up to Berlin to visit Christer's Father, who was in town for a convention. Hadn't been to Berlin since July 2005 and we hit the ground running, squeezing in all that we possibly could in the few days we had. We also made a stop (okay...two) at our favorite restaurant, Bocca di Bacco, where we learned that Bruce Willis had dined just a few days prior. Darn! Ah well..at least we know we have good taste.
We saw many more sights this visit, as I conducted a bit more research this time around (and am becoming quite the travel/research queen). This visit, we saw: Reichstag, Checkpoint Charlie, Brandenburg Gate, Berlin Wall, Jewish Museum Berlin, Jewish Memorial, Bauhaus Archive Museum and a few other sights. Each visit here has been sobering, reading and learning all that occured within this large city just 60 years ago. Berlin makes no attempt to hide its past, as it offers several museums and war-torn remnants to reveal the horrors of WWII. Alongside such sights are modern day restaurants, skyscrapers and art museums.......a bit of everything for everyone.
