CESKY KRUMLOV, CZECH REPUBLIC
AUGUST 2007

Cesky Krumlov was the last stop on our weeklong drive that took us from our home in Germany to Prague, CZ, Kutna Hora, CZ, Krakow, PL, Auschwitz, PL, Levoca, SK, Vienna, AU, and then on to Cesky Krumlov.  It proved to be the perfect location to end our whirlwind Eastern European trip, as it was small, easy paced, relaxing and blissfully sweet.  Cesky Krumlov offers something for everyone.  There is a meandering river for watersports like canoeing, kayaking or fishing, rolling hills for hiking, plenty of shops, restaurants and galleries.  The small town offers plenty of culture and a must-see museum dedicated to Egon Schiele, another of my all-time favorite artists, who grew up in Cesky Krumlov. My aunt said it best, when describing Cesky Krumlov as an uncrowded, untainted Rothenburg....it has all the charm and beauty of Rothenburg, minus the herds of tourists.  Get here while you can...it's sure to be overrun with tourists in years to come.  It's semi-discovered territory for the moment and an absolute jewel of a find.
