YALTA, UKRAINE
SEPTEMBER 2007

Yalta is Ukraine's gem.  Sweeping mountainscapes, rugged stony cliffs jut out from a clear blue sea, surrounded by lush forest.  It is a nature lovers wonderland.   It is the location of the Livadia Palace, the favorite summer home of the Romanov family (the tsarist family shot to death, yet rumors of daughter Anastasia's survival still exist, serving also as the location for the Yalta Conference in 1945.

Apparently, Yalta has been a top vacation sight for Russians for many years now and the tourist industry is thriving. Yalta is one of Ukraine's most expensive cities. But I have to say, if I were to come back to Ukraine, I would definitely want that visit to be Yalta.  Spectacular!
